About
I wrote my first few lines of code while taking a genomics laboratory course; I was fascinated by how a few lines of bash and perl could accomplish in minutes what would have taken me weeks, if not months.
During my first job after graduation, the software to analyze the genetic data failed. Because there were no alternatives due to the complex nature of the data, I taught myself programming to automate analysis for the department.
Since then, I've been hooked!
